Title: 790fxta-ud5 Cannot backup or image SSD with any software - doesn't see it
Post by: gormly on April 15, 2010, 05:10:33 pm
I have a nice new system with the 790fxta-ud5, everythings works great, I have an Intel 80 Gig SSD.
The only problem is I cannot image it because none of the backup/imagers can see it on boot.

Acronic, Paragon and Macrim.. none of them see the drive with their recovery CD's.
Am I missing something?

Hi,

I don't have much experience of SSD's but my first thoughts are which SATA channel are you running it on.

If you are running it on one of the SATA3 ports this could be the problem as the imaging software might not recognise SATA3 ports yet. (I'm only guessing here).

What OS are you using? If it is Windows 7 or Vista have you tried creating a back-up image and Recovery disc from within the OS? (Windows 7 back-up and recovery is actually pretty good).
