Title: Advice on Overclocking an EP45-UD3LR
Post by: Nightorchid38 on April 15, 2010, 07:36:33 pm
Hi All

Just New here... so Hows it going...

Just bought this excellent borad nut struggling to Overclock it.. Nedd a little advice please.

I have a C2D E6400 and 2x2GB Corsair PC6400 in Dual Channel Mode.

I find O/C the CPU starightforward, however, I want to set the ram at 800 or somewhere between 800 and 860 (Its max OC Speed)..

Can someone advice me how to adjust the (G)MCH Latch and other settings so that the DDR2 doesnt go up and up as I adjust the CPU frequency.

Many Thanks
Night

If you set the RAM to its default 800mhz by using the timings + voltages the manufacturer say. Run a memtest just to make sure ram is stable. Then set the fsb/ram ratio to 2.0b (pretty sure its 2.0b and not 2.0a etc) This will give you a FSB of 1600mhz (pretty sure that board can handle that)

You can then bump up the CPU multiplier to 8, raise CPU + Northbridge volts a little. That will give you a 3.2ghz overclock.
