Title: BIOS settings aren't being saved
Post by: Nike on April 16, 2010, 02:26:03 pm
My friend is having an issue with the G31M-S2L board.
The FSB frequency is being switched back to Auto nearly every times he reboots the system.

I have had this problem before and I've seen other boards acting the same, all made by Gigabyte.
I wonder if there's a known solution for this problem.

When I had this problem (P35-DS3L), resetting the BIOS via the jumper (CLR_CMOS) did the trick, but it's not helping my friend with the G31M-S2L.
I should also mention that he even updated his bios to the latest version, yet it didn't help either.

Thanks in advance.
Daniel.

Hi,

Have you tried a new mobo battery?

It's the first place I would look if re-setting BIOS didn't work properly.

But not all the settings in the BIOS are being reset. Its only the FSB, it turns to Disabled most times.

Could still be due to the battery and by replacing it you eliminate a possible cause.

If the problem still persists then you know there is an issue elsewhere.
