Title: P55A-UD4P Rev. 1 Still Working!
Post by: ronbo613 on July 05, 2016, 09:29:53 pm
Yep, this modern classic is still working, but I don't know how much longer. One of the SATA ports has died and I see some stuttering when I play Dirt Rally on medium settings. I don't know if that's because it's pushing the system over the line or the mobo is slowly fading away.

What's the realistic lifespan for this motherboard? Is the dead SATA port common or a sign of things to come? Will it last long enough to make upgrading to Windows 10 worth it?

There is really no lifespan on any mother board other then the warranty. I have just got back a old Abit board 2006 it was made. So you never know how long they will last. As long it is booting and it doesn't lose another port.

It could last many more yrs. I don't think any body can tell how long it will last. But I would be looking at something new soon.  ;D

Yep, I'm looking at a new rig soon. This one will probably wind up as another Linux box.
