Good Afternoon Everyone,
I have a Gigabyte Motherboard 970A-DS3 which has an Ethernet problem
I have updated the Bios to the latest version to see if that fixes the problem (NO)
This is a new hand built system so NO OS installed yet.
I have tried using Suse Leap 14.1, but it complains when using DHCP that there is no connection.
So I then tried Ubuntu latest version but same problem...
Any ideas please
All the best from Alan
Interesting though the active light is ON and the activity light is flashing on the Ethernet port
on the motherboard...

Hi Alan,
Have you tried entering the "Peripherals section" on the BIOS at start up?
There may be a section for Ethernet or LAN connections.
Normally, it may be that a setting is disabled.
Or alternatively, a OS system will need to be installed either via disk or USB. Then you should be able to install updated drivers for the LAN/Ethernet connectors through either Windows Update or the appropriate installation disk.
By any chance, did you have an initial problem getting to the BIOS screen when installation of components were complete?
