Title: 3.4 to 4.0
Post by: kiwitrains on July 17, 2016, 01:05:53 am
Hi everybody I am new here so excuse any mistakes I may make, I bought a computer with a Gigabyte Z170-HD3-CF board with an Intel Core i7 - 6700 3.4GHz chip when checking the paper work I noticed it said it was a 4.0GHz chip, on contacting the retailer he said that it can be changed from 3.4GHz to 4.0GHz through the BIOS. I got into the BIOS on start up but cannot find any sign of anything to increase the chip. Could somebody explain (in layman's terms) how to do this.
Thanks

No your CPU base clock speed is 3.4, but it can be OC or turbo boost to 4.0. Here is a link for the specs of that CPU.
