Hello Folks
Dumb question here, I'm looking into compatible ram for the Z170x Ultra Gaming MB, and I find it surprisingly hard to find the exact compatible memory to use with an XMP profile.
I found great deal on G. Skill Trident Z 3200mhz 2x8 memory, but on the Gigabyte website it is only listed on the QVL at 3866mhz.
Would this memory be basically the same except running at a lower speed?
Regards,
K

Yes they might be the same. But running faster memory is really not going to run any faster then 2133. You can get the faster memory and you might fight to get them to run too. Plus it will say 3200 or 3866 but it will be the same as 2133.
I'm sorry that I'm saying this but the memory 2133 to 3866 all run at about the same speed. That board supports 2133 to 3866. If you want to get the right memory make sure it supports Z170 boards and not X99 boards. Plus it is on their list too.
