Hello ,
I recently bought the Z170X-UD3 motherboard with compatible g.skill memory kit.
I used my old ssd OCZ-VERTEX 2 , I have checked the ssd with crystaldiskindo and seems to be in a good condition, before upgrading my system the ssd was working perfectly fine with windows 10.
The problem is that, it has really bad performance and windows are almost unusable , for instance extracting a zip file I see 4 Mb/sec and even, worst .
I have tried different sata ports different sata cable ,tried to disable many features in bios with no result.
Is it a compatibility issue ?
Any ideas?

If you have migrated your system disk from another main board to the Z170x-UD3 without performing a fresh install of windows, this is likely the cause of your issue.
Other considerations: The vertex2 is SATAII 3.0... while you'll still get decent performance.. if this is your boot drive, I'd recommend upgrading to a SATAIII 6.0 SSD for maximum performance. :)

Sorry i forgot to mention that i did a clean install of windows 10, also i installed the latest drivers from gigabyte, i also tried an intel utility that found newer drivers for the vga but in the end the utility informed me that i had newer installed... lol, tried hdtune and it seemed to have proper performance...1ms access time was amazing,and transfer speed about 300MB/sec,in my previous system i think i had 14ms access time.
With ocz ssd the system freezes while the hard disk indication usage is on,when it turns off i can interact with the system. I removed the ssd tried an hdd and it works perfect.
From the begging of windows 10 64bit installation the system had very slow performance about 3 hours to complete the installation on the ssd, i also deleted the partitions , i though that it could be a driver issue.For instance i entered the license key and i though that it crashed .
The ssd is sata ii but in my previous gigabyte motherboard performed well for my needs.
The motherboard has the latest bios F6 .
I also got a compatible G.Skill memory kit .
Tried to contact gigabyte from mobile and i got an error from the website...

Lets focus on one issue at a time. The memory that you have might be on the QVL for your board, but will REQUIRE overclock to run above 2133MHz. Incorrect memory settings can cause other stability or performance issues.

Disk performance:
***Please perform this one test before moving forward. Disable Fast Start Up under power options in your OS. Restart and test disk performance.
If the system performs normally with another disk (good test), there are only a few more things to look at typically. While testing, I would only have the SSD connected during your troubleshooting. If you have any other external devices, they should be disconnected.
Try connecting to a different SATA port
Try swapping the SATA cable
Use manufacturers toolkit to update the FW - Make sure OCZ still supports the drive, some legacy products are now supported by Toshiba. The utility should give you greater insight on your specific product.

Perform a Secure Erase and reinstall the OS. Shouldn't be necessary unless you have SMART related errors above expected threshold.

One thing to look at will it support UEFI. It is what maybe 12 yrs old legacy Sata 2 interface. Yes it is nice you still want to use your old SSD. But cost for a new SSD is not worth fighting with the old SSD.
You have this nice computer but using old drives. It is just like putting a 3.0 video card in a older motherboard that only supports 2.0 cards. You are not going to get the right performance out of the card or SSD.

You are welcome to spend more time troubleshooting, but in the end, grabbing a 3rd gen SSD will get you the performance you are seeking.

Thank you, i will not troubleshoot more, i will get a newer ssd.
About ram there is limitation with my cpu i7 6600T, i wonder if there is a compatibility issue or a hardware limitation before i get a samsung 960 Evo NVMe M.2

Your processor supports memory with the following speeds.
DDR4-1866/2133, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V.
So running faster memory will be challenging or impossible. Stick with 2133Mhz. DDR4 is the standard for the board.
What I bolded above is incorrect. I meant this /3000(O.C.)
SSD m.2. QVL for the board shows 950 and 951 NvME x4 supported
The 960 EVO or Pro should work too. >>> Is that released yet... I see it for pre-order on Newegg.
