Title: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 BIOS Problems
Post by: thunderous71 on November 21, 2016, 02:15:23 pm
Greetings.

I did a silly thing and corrupted my BIOS but attempting to get my Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 rev.1 to work with UEFI.

Anyhow the board will get as far as the BIOS splash screen and hang (no beeps).

So any ideas how I can get the mb to boot from the secondary BIOS / reflash?

Yes I know I was dumb but you live and learn.

All t he best.

Have you tried to remove battery and clear the cmos?

Here is a link that might help: https://www.gigabytenordic.com/gigabyte-tips-tricks-rma/

Hi,

if you haven't already tried this then download this tool: http://www.mediafire.com/file/44l4l5nb3ch2wr2/efi2awd.zip (link from TweakTown) and use it to flash back to the award BIOS.

If you're not sure how to do this then check here: http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php?topic=2441.msg89013#msg89013 although, in this thread, I am explaining how to use the EFI Flash tool, the process is basically the same to flash back to the award BIOS.
