If I upgrade to the i7 7700k using Z170 HD3 Bios F20 can I overclock the CPU and memory? 8)
-
For now I would stay away from F20. There is a lot people having problems with. That is up to you if you want to use it. If you do run into problems you can go back to a early version. There is a few threads on how to do it. I would try it with the CPU you are using now before you jump on the 7700K CPU.

+1 on skipping F20.... You can check here is something later is available... or go back to an earlier version.

Thanks for the replies. What problems are there and when are they going to update the Bios?
-
IIRC, there are potential voltage, stepping and boot loop problem with F20. Again, if you must upgrade, use a different BIOS rev, or forego altogether. No need to update unless you are trying to resolve a known issue, add functionality or support. No one knows for sure when BIOS releases occur.

It would be nice if people would answer this question. I have a z170-xp sli with a 6600k updated to the latest bios and I have options for i7 7700k overclock presets up to 5.0ghz. I assume this means I can overclock.
I have a 7600k on the way so I'll update when I get it.

Here's an answer for you.

Post back how the Bios works out and if you have any problems.

Like we said the F20 is not stable with most of the Z170 board. That link as far as I can read is for another board and not your's. All we saying is that we telling you that you might run into problems and may not. I'm sorry we can't answer your question. But we are only going by all the threads that people are having problems with F20. All you can do is try it and see what happens. ;)
