Title: EX58 Extreme mobo no usb keyboard in post
Post by: Vormulac on January 30, 2017, 10:02:52 am
Hello folks,

I realise that this is an old motherboard, but I'm still using it and I'm hoping someone can help me with this.

I've just had to do a complete rebuild and as I'm dual-booting with easybcd the problem I'm encountering is that my usb keyboards won't work until windows loads; I always enable them in bios whenever I install a new motherboard, so it's not that, but can anyone tell me if there are any usb ports on the board that are given priority that I should use?
This is causing me real problems and I don't want to have to go out an get a ps/2 keyboard and have that hanging around just so I can start my pc!

Any help anyone can give me is greatly appreciated!

If you have 5 areas of the USB enabled in the bios and there work in windows. It could be a keyboard thing. Have you tried to pull the battery and clear the cmos. Just to put things back to Sq one.

A keyboard is a keyboard. That is all I have ever used on my computers a Ps2 keyboard because of this kind of problem.

Thanks for the reply. It's not a keyboard thing, I've tried with numerous different keyboards and it's the same with each. I haven't tried clearing the CMOS, because while the PC is working I'm reluctant to mess with it too much! :D
So it would seem as far as you're aware there are no sockets that the motherboard prioritises during POST? Shame.

Anyway, thank you for your input :)
