Title: OS won't boot up but goes into boot loop!
Post by: supun on May 30, 2017, 05:27:27 pm
Hi

I'm from sri lanka. The power here is VERY unreliable and just today there was a huge power cut and after it was over, I tried to turn the PC, it started going into this weird boot loop.First, the computer will just turn on but the monitor wouldn't and then it turns off in a couple of seconds.Afterwards, it will boot to a blue screen with a "Gigabyte-UEFI dualbios" at the top. Then the whole thing repeats over and over.

The bios keyboard shortcuts (F12,Delete,etc) don't work and it will never boot to an os.

This ia actually a dual boot hacintosh with windows 10 and mac os x 10.9.0 maverics.

I also tried to remove the CMOS battery and also trying to boot to the secondary bios but they did not work.

My motherboard is a gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H with a intel core i5 4th gen processor.I have no GPU and only 8 GB of kingston ram.

THANKS

Welcome,
You should strongly consider a UPS given the unreliability of power in your region.

Sounds like your BIOS is corrupt.  Try ALT+F10 when you see the Gigabyte splash screen.  If successful, copy the back up BIOS to your primary BIOS chip.
