Title: G1 OC edition GTX 1080 poor performance
Post by: jujuberr on August 09, 2017, 02:47:54 am
I have a gigabyte g1 gaming gtx 1080. The performance is very low compared to how it is marketed and especially for a gtx 1080. I can hit max 50 frames on high settings on battlefield 1 and 50 frames on max settings in overwatch, which is marketed to get 128 fps on highest in overwatch. (https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N1080G1-GAMING-8GD#kf). I have overclocked it using msi afterburner, tried stock, and even the "xtreme gaming" from gigabyte. Is there a fix for this or is this a faulty gpu? I am very concerned and dissapointed so any help would be appreciated.

If you monitor is only 50-60Hz,... then your frame Rate is locked to that of the monitor.

mine is a Acer Predator with a max frame rate of 144hz, if you do intend on buying a new monitor anytime, then look for something with a higher "hz".
