Title: H61M-S2PV board

Hiya guys
I have just done a cloned disk from my c drive to a  2Tb disk. It will not boot!

Have explored several possible remedies - but thought before I chase them I should ask if the above board will indeed support a 2 Tb disk.

I ask in view of the fact that my board is quite old and outdated by today's standards

Yes, what software did you use to clone the drive and what were you going from?
500GB cloned to 2TB?

Depending on the software and drives the MBR might have changed.
Some of the Acronis True Image variants automatically set the MBR on 1TB+ to a GPT style layout so it will no longer boot.

Going from a 1 Tb to a 2 Tb disk.
Used Macrium Reflect Clone tool - unsuccessful
Used EaseUS -
Acronis TI (2014) -
AOMEI -
all unsuccessful !!!!
Will take a look at you suggestion and see what happens

There is also an option in your BIOS

"EFI CD/DVD Boot Option" Default = AUTO.

If you still have issues set it to disabled.

Before moving on..  I suggest you read this:

Automatic Fix Boot option built into Macrium Reflect.  Have used this several times recently after MBR to GPT conversions, but it works after cloning as well.  Saves you from running bootcfg /rebuild or bcdedit.  Worth trying before moving on to a different program. 

4 variants of your board and I don't see anything about how large of a disk might be supported, but if it supports 1TB now, chances are it will support 2TB.  I wouldn't try going above that however. 

Also, I didn't see what OS you were running?  I'm an Acronis MVP.   FYI , 2014 Doesn't support Windows 10. Only up to 8.1 and Home Server 2011.

What an Idiot (me that is).

I take a macrium full backup everyday - so the way forward was easy. Just do a disk restore to the new larger disk.
Why I did not go for the obvious I shall never know!
