Hi all,
I have a system with a Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-HD2 motherboard in it. Someone (I suspect my cousin, who was playing with it) has managed to set a password and I can't get rid of it. It's not a normal BIOS password, it comes up immediately the system is switched on.
So far I've tried:
- the clear CMOS jumper
- removing the CMOS battery
- shorting the battery socket contacts
- switching BIOSs by holding down reset and power for 10 seconds
None of these have worked.
Help!

Hello,
Could be a "Power on password" has been set.
Did the backup BIOS activate?
Check this link for methods to force the 2nd bios to boot.

Hi,
Thanks for replying.
Dual BIOS seems to be activating. Both holding down power/reset for 10 seconds and shorting pins 1&6 produce the same result, a blue screen with 'Gigabyte UEFI Dual BIOS' at the top and then the system resets and immediately displays the password prompt again.

Try clearing the backdoor password as outlined here (end of page)
