I don“t know what it is but I cannot set my memories to 1600 mhz, not manually nor activating the XMP, I have 3 x 2 Gb of the Kingston HyperX 1600 Mhz with XMP but my pc will not boot or will start up in a loop when the memory is at that level. Have CLRD CMOS, re-updated the the firmware to F5 but nothing.
Any ideas/solution?

Well, it is clear to me now that it is the motherboard, tried the meories on an ASUS P6X58D-E board and no problem at all, not with XMP nor manually configured.. -1 for Gigabyte again... ???

i'm using 6gb g.skill 1600 ripjaws running under extreme profile 1 to activate the 1600, and have had no such problem if all voltages are left to auto. Its when i manually try setting voltages that it goes into that power loop.

I only activated the XMP of my Kingston HyperX 1600mhz and that is it, no manual changes made.. still those loops :o
