Hi. I may be asked this before but is there any performance gain in choosing ddr 2400 ram for my Z97 G1 sniper board?
I have now 4x4 sticks of ddr 3 pc 1600 corsair ram running in dual channel:) Also doing video editing so perhaps 4x8 sticks will be better?

There will not be a noticeable performance gain going from 1600 to 2400Mhz... what will yield better rendering performance is increasing the amount of installed RAM.

Hence, sell my 16gb and puchase 32gb instead? Just too bad ddr 3 ram still cost a fortune:(

Programs like Premiere actually allow you to monitor system resources both RAM, and scratch disk. Task Manager is also useful. Before upgrading, ensure you are in fact utilizing all of your currently available resources.

yes there will be a performance gain from 1600mzh to 2400 mhz specialy in fallout 4 ,arma 3 , stalker games ,ppubg not alotbut here look for your self i ran 3000mhz and went to 3600mhz and saw 12 fps more soecialy helps with your overall lowest fps heres some links
this link shows 2133mhz ram up to 4000mhz in games
http://www.overclock.net/t/1600910/ts-ddr4-4000mhz-ram-increases-fps-in-games-by-10-19-over-ddr4-2133-ddr3-1600
hers 1600 vs 2400 thats 9 fps
http://wccftech.com/fallout-4-performance-heavily-influenced-by-ram-speed-according-to-report/
1600MHz: 36.0/54.6
2133MHz: 39.0/61.0
2400MHz: 44.0/66.9
look at those min fps diffrence even the max i would say go for it
take in mind not all games benfit by ram speed like fallout 4 does some do some dont either way its werth it
i would get these sexy sticks i love these check these out the most best looking heat sync around on them

ialmost like the look better then my ddr4 g skill rgb with brushed metal to ...

We aren't talking about the difference between 2133 and 4000Mhz in this situation. Just 1600Mhz > 2400Mhz.
He's not going for FPS increase, he's looking at increasing the rendering performance of video editing. Also, consider the platform. Z97. If he is running a 4th gen Devil's Canyon CPU, the performance gain going from 1600 > 2400Mhz will be minimal. This platform is also extremely finicky when you push the ram above 1600Mhz. He didn't tell us what CPU he has either. It might not be a "K".
Further, the BIOS for the 5th Gen Broadwell CPU's isn't well suited for 4th gen CPUs and OC. Again, don't know what BIOS rev he's running. Lots of issues reported with voltage, stepping and instability. Hence my recommendation of more RAM.
From a gaming perspective. I myself don't consider an increase of up to 9fps (under optimal conditions) is going to give me a perceivable increase in visual performance and game playability. Same as overclocking your CPU 500-600Mhz... the performance gains are less than 10%. Insignificant. All things considered, increasing the speed in one area isn't always "better".
In conclusion, I would rather have 16/32GB of 9-9-9-24 over 16/32GB 10-12-12-31 (your recommendation)
;) Cheers
