Title: GA-Z170X-Gaming 3 + i5 7600
Post by: trismegisto on October 14, 2017, 02:38:30 pm
I want to change the CPU to my motherboard. I would like to place an i5 7600, for this I have updated the Bios to the F22d version.

I suppose it will work perfect, but my question is:

Is there any difference in using this Z170X chip to the Z270?

Is it advisable to change the motherboard for this reason?

Thanks

Hello,

There is very little difference between the two, Z270 has a few more PCI-E lanes and some kind of cache memory feature when you use the Intel Optane SSD.

Are you going for the 7600K CPU?, price difference might be very little depending where you buy it from.

Indeed, I already got it at a better price than a 6600k
