Title: P55M-UD4P - Woke up this morning to this... (screenshots included)
Post by: smagin on May 24, 2010, 03:34:43 pm
All,

A few months back I bought a P55M-UD4P, Intel i860, NVIDIA GTS 250 and 4GB of GSkill RJ.  I built a Win 7 system and its been running great since.  I went to bed at 2am and things were fine with the system.  When I woke though, it was a different story.  The system was locked up on the screensaver.  I killed the system power and rebooted.  Now it will not reboot properly.  I get gibberish on the screen during the POST, then the starting Windows screen starts and asks whether I want to do a repair or normal boot as the system ended abruptly (power off).  The windows boot screen had graphic anomalies as well, but was fairly normal.  Though it will not finish booting into Windows, instead either locking or just never finishing.  I havent had any heat issues and I checked to make sure all fans were going when I restarted it.  The BIOS was F8, and had been at that level for a month.

I tried 3 times before work to no avail.  Here is a couple of screens of the post.  Any guesses?  BIOS corrupted somehow?  I'm not getting the splash screen anymore with the boot options.

video card / ram issue, try re-seating them both and swap out to test if you can.

There's not much point in resurrecting an old post like this as by now it will have been resolved one way or the other ;)

I don't know, this thread was only started in May and although the original poster may have solved the issue, others might be facing a similar problem and are looking for answers.

Just because a thread might seem dead, it doesn't mean it isn't relevant to someone else.

No I guess you could be right but I noticed the similar thread elsewhere.
