Hi Guys,
Its a long story, but basically, now I have a Gigabyte GA-MA790X-UD3P motherboard, An AMD 7750BE Kuma AM2+ CPU, and 4GB of Corsair Dominator1066mhz DDR2 RAM. However, I am having immense troubles running it at 1066mhz. Seeing as the ram is listed on the motherboard compatibilty sheet, and the KUMA supports 1066mhz RAM as stated, I presumed I would be fine to purchase the Corsair RAM. However, on the corsair forum, they are telling me that it is incompatible with my combo of the motherboard and proccessor! I am not best pleased, as if this is true, I have wasted money on 1066mhz ram, when 800mhz is the max. Is this the case? Is there another brand of 1066mhz RAM that would work?
Help would be much appreicated!
Kind Regards
Jack

AMD says at: http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/processors/athlon-x2/Pages/AMD-athlon-x2-processor-model-numbers-feature-comparison.aspx (http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/processors/athlon-x2/Pages/AMD-athlon-x2-processor-model-numbers-feature-comparison.aspx)
1) that your 7750 is an AM+ processor which is required to use 1066 memory - you are OK there
2) 1066 memory is supported by this processor - you are OK there
Silly question on my part: Have you set your memory clock in BIOS to: Manual -> x5.33 which sets your motherboard to access the memory modules at 1066 memory?
Here is how to do this:
In BIOS: on "MB Intelligent Tweaker" page/screen:
1) change "Set Memory Clock" to MANUAL and set the multiplier to "x5.33"
Save your changes on the way out of the BIOS and ReBoot

LOL, yes I did get that far! Just won't even get past post with RAM set to run @1066mhz although if i use crazy high timings, like 6,7,7,24 or something, itll post, but errors with memtest!
Can I get someone from Gigabyte to have a look into my problem?
