Hi Guys
I have recently replaced my stock cooler from AMD with an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro rev2
this is sat on my AMD Phenom II X4 965BE 125W cpu
both hwmonitor and overdrive are reporting very high temperatures during games and prime95
prime up to 70C while gaming hits 61C
however the vga card hits higher temps 60's - 80's and feels hot
while the cpu heatsink or surrounding area doesnt even appear to be getting warm.
I will try and reseat it with new compound tomorrow, but was wondering if there were any issues with incorrect temperature reporting on this board?
Cheers

Thanks for the info
strangely with the new compount I get slightly higher temps, prime maxes out at 75C but again I dont believe that temp.
pc doesnt even blow out warm air!
and its stable so I am not too worried, maybe time for a thermometer.

LOL
Changed CPU to Phenom ii 1090 BE and updated BIOS to F3. Core Temp is now showing me temps of 20C - 30C. Not sure how accurate this is but it sure looks good! :D
To be honest I don't rely on any of the software to give accurate readings and have sensors in strategic places within my chassis to give me an indication of temps. As long as it doesn't get too hot and is stable, I'm happy.

try monitoring cpu temp in bios. warm up the cpu by some application(s) under OS then quickly restart and enter bios

Cheers guys
I did try the bios check but the cpu cools so quickly after running prime95, its down to 45C within a couple of seconds of the process stopping :)
I will go down the road of sensors if the system gives me any trouble, which it hasnt yet. And I have been driving it pretty hard for the past couple of days.
Totally stable :)
