Title: P35-DS3L and hardware assisted virtualization (HAV)
Post by: dsa44 on May 27, 2010, 03:39:24 am
I am running this board with an Intel E8400 and wanted to know if this would support hardware assisted virtualization.  I am running windows 7 ultimate 64-bit and wanted to enable xp mode and virtual pc.
There are no settings in the bios that I can find.  Does a bios upgrade address this? or am I out of luck unless I get a new mb?

Thanks in advance

I would download the virtual xp and run it.....You have nothing to lose except some bandwidth. Your cpu should be ok

After much research, virtual pc will work just fine without hardware virtualization.  However, I bite the bullet and upgraded bios to F9, and there it was! The option to enable or disable Virtualization Technology.  I enabled it and I am a happy camper.  Hope this helps someone else.
