Title: Is my GA-X58A-UD3R configured correctly for a SATA3 HDD?
Post by: onemilimeter on May 29, 2010, 11:22:45 pm: I've a Western Digital SATA-III 6.0Gbps 640GB (WD6402AAEX) (http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/specsheet/eng/2879-701276.pdf).
It's connected to the SATA-III port.
However, as shown by the HD Tune Pro v4.50, the "Standard" is "ATA8-ACS - SATA-II".
Kindly advise.

It is well known that it doesn't run at full speed and that the Intel ports(SATA2) are actually faster. What have you set the port up to in the BIOS?

Cool... look like it's another hardware problem. Do you think the Marvel chip or this problem has been solved in GA-X58A-UD3R Rev. 2.0?

I have heard that Gigabyte has asked Marvell to update the drivers but whether that will help and when is another matter. Marvell are well known for being crap for ages now, I don't know why Gigbyte used them anyway. Maybe they were the only option.
