Title: GA-X58A-UD3R memory question
Post by: Xing on May 31, 2010, 12:52:47 pm
I was wonder if this board is compatible with this RAM:

G.Skill F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ (3x2GB) DDR3

Cause I can't seem to locate whether it works with 1600MHz RAM

Thanks~

According to the blurb it should be ok:

Gigabyte lists these modules as compatible and they are 1600Mhz so I would think they are fine:

GSET16C1 2GB G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ

And if you check G-skill' site they list the motherboard as compatible with your ram:

It doesn't really list the x58A, only the x58

And the Gigabyte sites list it 2200/1333/1066 for RAM MHz timings and not 1600.

Do you already ahve this ram or just considering purchasing it? If you don't have it yet why not just get some that you are 100% sure is cpompatible.

These are all DDR3 12800 1600mhz RAM from G.Skill, I am sure that you´ll find compatible ones to your mobo from this list:

It means to achieve 1600MHz, you need to overclock...
