Hey all, Im looking to buy a Gigabyte GA-H55M-USB3, but I see there is both a rev1 and rev2 version.
What are the changes in hardware in rev? (I dont care about BIOS changes. I dont mind flashing the MB myself)
I want to make sure there aren't any hardware issues on the first revision before I buy, so im not going to get irritated about it later.
If you don't actually know the answer for sure but you are speculating based on experience, please say so in your answer.

From experience only I can say that manufacturers don't retool and produce a new revision for what can be fixed by software(bios upgrade). There must have been some problems/features that were giving some trouble.

I tend to agree - which is exactly why I am being so cautious. Dosn't anyone else have any spesific info on this?
Its weird but I havent been able to find any info on it from Gigabyte themselves. You would think they would have this kind of info, but the closest thing I've gotten is to soo them acknowlage that there is indeed 2 different hardware revisions.
I some someone can assist with some solid info here :)

Don't hold your breath for Gigabyte to admit anything! The UD3 board has been haveing a lot of problems with its noisy coils etc but if you follow the thread you will find the manufacurer will try anything to NOT admit they have a problem. See here:

I kind of expected as much - but at the same time surely there must be some kind of information availiable through unofficial channels or otherwise on what changes were made. I just hope some of the entusiasts with in-depth knowledge on these boards can shed some light on this issue.
Or of course, if some of the official staff want to chime in thats just as good if not better :)
