Does anyone know if the GA-X58A-UD5 has a hissing noise problem, as I was planning on buying one. Also is there anyway of knowing whether a retailer is selling the revision 2 board before you buy it. Also when I buy the board how will i know what revision I have? If the hissing noise is present on the UD5, does revision 2.0 even fix this?
Thank You,

Hi... I can't remember if UD5 has such "hissing noise" or not. If you are free probably you may like to go through this thread (http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,1426.0.html) (which is quite long at the moment) to find out if anyone with UD5 has reported the problem before. So far, owners with UD3R and UD7 reported the noise problem, which in Gigabyte investigation and troubleshooting now.

I can't actually recall anyone metioning a UD5 board noise but check the thread that onemilimeter has given you to make sure.
As for the question of what revision board the retailer has just ask them. You are the customer and you only pay your money out when you are happy that the item is exactly what you require. I wouldn't deal with anyone who said they "didn't know" or such as it just smacks of inefficiency.

Thanks for the help, unfortunately I did find ud5 complaints about the same problem. Located on this board, newegg customer reviews, and youtube. I really like the look of the ud5 and it fits my budget, but it looks like it would be safer to go with a competitor brand.

I can't say that I blame you but I moved over to Gigabyte from Asus because of the problems I had with their boards.
