Hi guys
I have just brought the motherboard (GA M68M S2P) for a new build pc, i connected everything and then started the machine. it displayed the post screen but it states that the amd processor unknown. It is then that i realised that i had been sent the wrong revision. So i know i need to flash the motherboard so that it accepts my amd X6 cpu but i am unsure about doing this. i dont have a floppy drive and as its a new build no dos or windows installed yet. So basically i'm asking what should i know about flashing the bios.

No problem. Just use a FAT32 formatted USB pen drive instead of a floppy. You will need to make sure that the BIOS update file is on the boot sector and that your BIOS is set to boot from USB first. For that to happen you will need to have the USB stick inserted in the machine for it to register. Apart from that it is just a straightforward BIOS update using Q-Flash.

what do you mean by boot sector also with the bios update for my board there are 4 updates and so does the newest update include all previous updates.

By boot sector it just means not inside any other folders etc, in other words when you click on the drive icon the next image will be the bios update file.
Yes just use the latest update as it will include all the previous updates in the one file.

how do i get the bios to recognise the usb stick
Basically just as I described previously " Just use a FAT32 formatted USB pen drive instead of a floppy. You will need to make sure that the BIOS update file is on the boot sector and that your BIOS is set to boot from USB first. For that to happen you will need to have the USB stick inserted in the machine for it to register."
Put the USB stick into the computer. Turn on and enter the BIOS setup menu. Go to the boot tab and select BOOT form USB first. press F10 and save and exit. Leave USB pen in computer and reboot pressing the END key to enter the Q-Flash program.
