I was wondering if HPA is disabled by default on this board with the latest firmware? Also, can the board boot up completely headless? or must there be a graphics card plugged in either in the PCI-E/PCI slot?

Sorry I don't know on this board about the HPA setting. However the board shpould try and boot without a graphics card. The POST should run and give a one long and one short beep indicating that the graphics card is missing. You will of course need to install an internal buzzer/beeper on the motherboard for this.

Thanks for the info! Now I just need to figure out if xpress recovery/save bios to hdd is diabled by default. My MA786GM-US2H has it disabled by default so I imagine this board should have it disabled by default as well.
If someone could help take a look in the bios, this option should be under Advance settings, "backup bios to hdd: enabled/disabled"
I'd like to purchase this board to be used with unRaid but not if HPA is enabled by default.

You can download the manual from the Gigabyte website http://www.gigabyte.com and go to the support section and look up your motherboard.

Already did, it's not there. Also, I haven't bought this board. If I had, I'd be able to find this out myself :D Gigabyte's web site is down atm, too

Yes I appreciate that you haven't bought the board yet so haven't got the manual :) I did realise the website was down at the time but thought that they would have had it up and running by now(maybe it needs an update ;)) however I am suprised that the board 's manual wasn't on there.

I think I should have threaded more carefully. What I meant was I already checked the online manual, it didn't mention the specifics about "save bios to hdd". I read that some other board's manual mentioned specifically that the option to save bios to hdd is disabled by default, hence no HPA issue. The site also happens to be down atm, I wanted to update my EP35-DS3L bios but can't even get to the site. :(
Someone in the forum must have this board! Show yourself! ;D
