Hi,
I have just bought a GA-EP41-UD3L Rev 1.2 and Intel E5300 to replace my old setup using the same RAM and Graphics as my old system. The motherboard will not always post and when it does the windows 7 installer hangs after it has loaded the background image. When it doesn't post the diagnostic lights on the board show as 1. Green, 2. Green, 3. Orange, 4. Red. Unfortunately I cannot find any error codes online. When it isn't posting I think there is no power to USB as the keyboard doesn't light up (Saitek Eclipse II - backlit - usually lights up when it has power).
I have tried booting it with 1 stick of RAM at a time and had no joy with that (although I do know the RAM works). I will try and swap out the graphics card (Radeon 4870) later and see if that works.
It sounds like a painful one to diagnose but if anyone has any ideas let me know.
Thanks
Hugh

Hi,
You state the board is GA-EP41-UD3L rev 1.2 but can only find rev 1.0 or 1.3 on the Gigabyte site.
Not sure what BIOS version you have at the moment but the F5 update addressed a system error during POST on both versions of the Mobo. If you are running an earlier BIOS version it would be worth updating to see if that fixes the problem.
Also disable Floppy drive in BIOS, if you are not using one, it can sometimes help.

Can you list all your hardware as it makes it easier to understand the problem? What PSU are you running with, it sounds like it could be a power supply problem?

I'll give the BIOS update a go later. I'm pretty sure it says 1.2 on the board but I couldn't find any records of a 1.2 online. I'll take another look at it later.
The PSU is a cheap one TBH! It's 500 watts and I can't remember the brand. The power supply worked fine with the previous motherboard and processor. I'll try and borrow a power supply tester so I can check the output.
