Will be getting this MB back from RMA in a few days.
After working with tech support, they figured it is probably bad ram slot(s) 2 and/or 4.
Tried with 8 gb (4x2gb) of OCZ3BE1600C8LV4GK and 8 gb (4x2gb) GSKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ (the gskill is on their compat list). Tech said either should have worked fine.
We could not get this MB to boot with ram in slots 2 or 4. I have read here that others had some ram problems also.
Boots and runs perfect if ram is in slot 1 and/or 3.
I could only get it to boot with ram in all 4 slots once by changing ganged, interleave, etc. Even then, the BIOS only saw 4gb. Win 7 Ult x64 saw all 8gb but said only 4gb was usable.
Yes, all 4 ram chips of each brand were the same.
I really don't want to sell the ram and get 2 4gb chips.
I was just wondering if anybody has had this board running with all 4 ram slots filled and system correctly recognizing all the ram?

What I don't understand is that you explain that you will be receiving this board back from an RMA but then say it is still not working correctly. If it doesn't do what it is supposed to do then don't accept it, have a refund and buy a board that does work.

Would also help if you could say what CPU you are using.

The post wording may have looked deceiving,,,my bad.
Tech support and I tried everything he could think of and then said to RMA it.
I will be getting my mb back in a few days. My email doesn't say if they replaced mb, fixed or anything,,, just that I am getting something back. I will know by serial if its my original mb.
F3 BIOS, Antec 900 case, AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 125W, Corsair H50 cooler, CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-650HX 650W PS
I read posts of other MB that people were having ram issues and others with this board having trouble with slots 2 and/or 4. At least one with this mb never got it figured out.
I was trying to see if anybody actually had ram in all 4 slots working correctly in this mb.
Sorry if confusing.

Definitely clearer now thanks. I couldn't understand why you were receiving a faulty board back.

did you check via CPUZ download.com it will show dead stick/slot
it wont boot fresh insalation O/S with any more than 2 gig then plug in the rest
hope that helps

It could be a voltage issue when using 4 DIMMs. Are they double sided DIMMs? See memory supported listed on the Gigabyte website...
I am also experiencing problems with memory stability and this type of motherboard
