Title: GA-MA785GM-US2H (rev. 1.3) BIOS F12a and ET6 problem
Post by: kallsop on July 22, 2010, 05:38:45 am
With BIOS F11, everything in ET6 was working. After updating to BIOS F12a, the CPU1 fan monitor is glitchy and sometimes reads out 0 rpm for a few seconds. The fan is running fine, it's a BIOS or ET6 problem. ET6 installed is the current version on the web site (May 28th).

As a matter of interest, if everything was fine while using the F11 BIOS why did you flash? You shouldn't need to flash BIOS unless there is a problem that a newer version resolves and I would be very wary of flashing with a BIOS version such as F12A as this could well be a beta version although it doesn't say it.

Don't forget, you can always re-flash with the F11 BIOS and go back to where you were before.

One time ET6 reported the bus multiplier had changed from 11 to 4. The Prime95 stats showed that 3 of the 4 cores had slowed down, only core 4 was running at full speed. So I updated the BIOS because I know that, in theory, bugs get fixed and that might have been a BIOS bug.

So, anyone got anything constructive to add? With BIOS F12a and ET6 I see glitches in the CPU1 fan speed measurement, that I didn't see with F11. With F12a the multiplier has been at 11 and hasn't changed.
