I have a x58-UD3R which has a failed memory channel, so I need to move everything over to the new version. Anyone know if the RAID 0 (comprising 4 x 2.5Tb drives) will simply move to the new Mobo? The controller is the same chip, not sure about the version.

Yes it can be moved just enable RAID in BIOS and it will pick up the RAID.

Changed over Mobo today - enabled RAID mode on new board and voila! Aslo then found problem causing old board missing Channel A of RAM. Bent pin on CPU socket. This was also the reason for Windows 7 reporting 6Gb Ram - 4 Gb available. How the Mobo can only report 4Gb in POST but Windows sees 6 is beyond me. Anyway, everything working fine.
Also found you need to turn of Disc Indexing in Windows 7 as it has a massive effect on read times from a RAID 0. Using Blackmagic's speed test, results were changing constantly from as low as 11 Mb/s to 270 Mb/s. This had a massive impact on the ability to play 1080i HD footage. Should have spotted this earlier.

Well what can I say.
powered up PC this morning, and nothing apart from a smell of burning. Quickly switched off mains, opened up machine and no visible signs of damage. Power button did nothing apart from light two LED's in front of the RAM. Move power supply from another PC. Still nothing - same LEDs light, but everything dead. Decide Mobo has died and take it back to supplier who has none in stock, but swaps out to a UD5R with extra payment.
Put Mobo in PC, processor and Ram, back to old PSU, same result, dead but two LED's lit. Try previously used alternative PSU and still nothing.
I'm now extremely depressed.
Even more depressed after looking at price of new i7 processors.
Put swapped PSU back into its PC and now that won't start. Mobo power light comes on but PC dead. Decide to check PSU outside PC using short between green wire and ground with a fan as load - nothing on both PSU's
OK. Swap PSU out of yet another PC and it bursts into life!!!!!!
Off to supplier for £80's worth of PSU's. Install in two original PC's and we're back in the land of the living and I'm a happy bunny at last.
So the Mobo had blown and taken out two supplies with it

Well you have certainly been going through it recently, have you been upsetting someone? You didn't say what PSU's you bought but hopefully they were good quality ones. We get so many people on the forum that build nice expensive machines, a lot of them top of the range components and then put them in a case with the crappiest power supply imaginable and wonder why a few months(if they are lucky) down the line it burns out taking half their hardware with it.
Anyway all the best and hopefully no more problems. ;)

Likely the PSU's you had where so cheap they burnt themselves out trying to power the system.

Te original PSU was a 650w supply, the second an Antec 500w Supply. Replaced both with Cooler Master supplies.
I am going to take up making model airplanes, it's a lot simpler!

As long as their not eXtreme or Elite models by Cooler Master you should be fine.

You will be fine in the end. Dangerous things model airplanes, wouldn't get me up in one! :o
If you have a decent PSU then you shouldn't have any problems.
