Title: Is there a reluctance to support ECC memory?
Post by: motokiume on July 27, 2010, 04:23:27 pm
Whilst looking for a replacement for my GA-MA790FX-DS5, I have struggled to find a current motherboard that supports ECC memory.
Is it that the current chipsets don't work well with it, or are Gigabyte just not interested in supporting ECC memory?

Generally ECC memory is only used in servers and high end workstaions because of the prohibitive prices involved. Most companies still make motherboards that support it but they are few and far between.
