Title: GA-X58A-UD3R- Cold boot takes a long time to POST
Post by: kpopsaranghaex3 on July 30, 2010, 01:23:24 am
Hey, I am posting regarding an issue that when I am booting it takes forever for the computer to POST. Usually it is up to 15-20 seconds.

I find this ridiculous, my old MSI board would boot right up and it didnt cost nearly as much as this board did. I mean seriously, 15 seconds just for the POST screen to come up? That is far too long...

With my SSD and my old mobo, my computer in total would boot in 30 seconds. Now it takes 50 seconds because of the ridiculous amount of time it takes to POST.

So is there anyway to fix this problem? I would expect this out of a low-end mobo, but not a 200 USD one.

I think you will find that it is normal for Gigabyte boards. So don't worry about it.

?! That is ridiculous -.- my old board can boot at that time using a normal HDD. Taking 51 seconds to boot while using a SSD as an OS drive is stupendously long... I am just amazed at this situation...

Fatman is correct. I am running a GA-X58A-UD& with an SSD boot drive and mine takes 14 seconds to POST.

My UD3R (Rev. 1) takes about 20 secs to show the POST text... Only Gigabyte knows what the UD3R does at the background during the first 15~20 secs.
