Using onboard 4290 video... Can anyone else verify the existance of "snow" like interference at color (red) 55 / (Green) 105 / (Blue) 192

Please don't tell me it's just me...

I would start by making sure that you are running the latest BIOS version.

If I had enough common sense to be able to figure out what specific color it is, don't you think I've updated bios's before then?

(I'm only joking...) Of course it's the latest...

Having said that... I'm O/C'ing like a muther in xp-64 and I have a few extra oddball hardware items hooked in too... So, it could be lots of things I guess... But I'll blame Gigabyte first... Seems logical, yes?  ;)

Oh, and yes, I get the same effect at stock speeds / volts etc..

Yes I don't blame you ,take the easy route ;D The thing is we don't know how experienced a member is at first until we get to know them.  You just have to expect they know nothing and start from there.

No sweat DM... I understood how you arrived at your reply... I get it.. My experience is in my name...  ;) So I thought I take the opportunity to come outside and play a little...

Are there other 'bigger' issues with this board?... I've not had many issues other than having to volt the processor to 1.5v to run stable @ 4.02ghz... Which sorta sucks but what do I care about power consumption... I'm a "consumer"... There's a little love for all you green'ies  :-*

Never mind... I fixed it... Sorry y'all had to put up with me for the last half hour...  :-[

R2.0 / 1090T / 8g / novid / 4tb / xp64 (stinks) / 4.02ghz @ 100% -100% of the time.

Issue returns every boot... I need to just switch video modes (resolution), then back to default res... When it pops back into default, issues gone...

Sounds like a bios tune... Sure hope gigabyte reads their own forum?

I think my bios is the latest beta so maybe that will be fixed when they release the official 'next'...

You sound like you have managed to at least understand the problem now. ;) I am afraid that the only paid representative of Gigabyte on this forum, runn3R, has just gone on a couple of weeks vacation so don't expect anything official for a while.  I am surprised that you are still struggling along with XP64 (it was a biAtch), why have you not upgraded to Win7 64? By the way on another forum recently we had a member who named himself ITAdvisor but that was quite the opposite of his real ability ::) He's now changed his name. ;)

XP-64... Oh baby, don't get me started on this one...

Ends up being the only version of an OS I had left (and I have 5 copies of it)

It seems the "robbing" hands knew exactly what "not" to take when "my stuff" was stolen from my house and storage locker after I was falsely ar#$&@#d almost 2 years ago... It's been a long 2 years dealing with that garbage (waiting for this time period)... So, there's no time to waste now, and little money these days as I prepare torts I intend on starting, one at a time - like dominos they will fall (I hope)... This will likely take another year or two so I don't see buying 7-64 -- Just yet... Maybe in another 6 months... At least XP-64 can -sorta- pay the bills for now... Computers are only 'business' for me anyway... (CGI) - so at least all the important things work... And beings I'm very familiar with vista and 7... using it on a daily basis will present minor challenges in the form of learning curves and I have zero time for that stuff at the moment...

So it's XP-64... The OS that wasn't (for me now).. And that was way too much info..  :-\

But who's reading this stuff on a Sunday anyway?  ;)

Well...

The 890GPA-UD3H fried... ?? I have no idea what did it... I went to bed and set up a bunch of frames to render overnight... When I got up it was dead...

Replaced it for an A$U$ M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 and to be honest?... It only cost $14 bucks extra to exchange and ... Umm... I like the board much better...

Sorry Gigabyte... this doesn't mean I'll never be a customer again... Of course I will... The place I purchased the equip. at was out of the 890GPA forcing me to change...

(this time) it was a win / lose I guess...

No more posts in here for now, I guess?... See ya all.. Good luck...

What exactly was wrong with the motherboard, you say it fried, did it take the chip or memory with it?
