Title: X58A-UD9
Post by: Messervy on August 01, 2010, 05:27:44 am
Hello !

This is my other (initialy first problem)

I had some troubles with Ati GPU and when I decided to uninstall all the drivers with driver cleaner pro, I couldn't get the board to boot.
It stopped just before Window7 logo should dissapear. I did hear the "Hello" sounds of Windows starting but other than that I was stuck on the logo screen.
I then decided to re-install the OS and I know it sounds weird, but whatever I tried in BIOS menu it just wouldn't save the changes.

Changed first boot device to CD ROM+F10+Y+Enter ----------- it kept booting from SSD.

Oddly enough I took the SSD and set up another rig (see my other thread) the system booted just fine.

Hi and welcome to the forum. You don't mention which SSD make/model it is and which port you are using it to connect to the motherboard, so if you could answer these queries first it might make a difference. Also check that the firmware on your graphics card is the latest version as there have been instances where this causes problems.

Hi, thank you !

The SSD is Intel X25-M G2 80GB 25/S300 34nm ( SA2MJ080G2C1) and was connected to Sata2_0

As far as the firmware goes I don't have a clue - it was out of the box.
By the way the board BIOS behaved I deducted it was a faulty board so I packed it to be returned.
If someone comes up with a solution I'm happy to give it another try.

If yhou have already arranged an RMA then you might as well go ahead with it. If hte next boared strill has the same problem at least you will know where you stand.
You can use a reporting tool like Everest or one of the many others available to find out what firmware etc yopu have on various boards.
