Post by: newpc on August 10, 2010, 12:11:09 am
I can't seem to get my onboard audio to work on my ga-x58a-ud3r. i downloaded a new driver from gigabyte and restarted- nothing happened! what's up? I really hope I don't have a bad board i just got everything working (except for this) any thoughts? Also, I am very inexperienced at windows this is my first build and I used to be a lifetime mac user, so If there's someing i am supposed to do in my os, let me know.

Well welcome to the forum and the real world away from the dreaded Mac ::)  I will start at the begining so don't take offence. Make sure that your speakers are connected and turned on. Go into Device Manager(Control Panel/System Properties) and see what symbol is by the Sound Card entry. Open the device up and check what it says about drivers etc. If everything seems ok close it.Go back to Control Panel and open the Sound Icon. Make sure Speakers is enabled.Do all that and then post back.
