My monitor is blacking out when the machine gets warm & the problem seems to be that the graphics card isn't making a good connection in the motherboard. "Encouraging" it helps sometimes but mostly I'm having to keep the side panel off & keep my foot on the graphics card. This is obviously best done barefoot while not getting one's toes in the fan. I guess I'm going to have to change the mobo & maybe the graphics card. can anyone offer some replacement options?

Are you sure it isn't just the fan is clogged up with dust? Try removing the card, cleaning the fan and then refitting the card. If you have access to a compressor then use the high pressure air to blow the dust out of the insides of the computer. Best way possible and no problem with static.

The fan looks clean(ish) but I'll give it a try. Thanks
