I built my computer around the Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H motherboard using 8gb of Patriot Gamer Series 2GB DDR3 sticks. I'd like to know if anyone is using the Cooler Master Hyper N520 CPU cooler with a similar combination. I looked on the Cooler Master site and measured the space the N520 would sit and honestly I'm not sure theres enough room...if it fits in it looks like there would be practically no gap between it and my RAM and I'm concerned it may not fit at all based on my measurements and the dimentions of the N520.
My system:
AMD Phenom II x6 1090T
8GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 470
700 watt power supply
1.5TB hard drive space

Hi and welcome to the forum Jennifur.
This is a common problem now with these bigger coolers. I can only suggest you check out some of the other posts as many people have posted about them in the past. I can't help directly because I don't have that board or cooler.
I don't know if this will help but there are some good photos etc:

Hi there,
Not using the Coolermaster but I do have one of the biggest Air Coolers on the Market and having just double checked the important measurements I believe that you should be OK.
As you can see from this picture, My cooler sits over all of the Memory slots on my Mobo and the Coolermaster N520 is actually quite a bit smaller.

And the measurements for both coolers:

The deciding factor whether the cooler will actually fit will be the overall height of your RAM modules but I think you should be OK there too.

Thanks for the fast responses guys. I did a lot of reading online, research and measurung before I posted...I guess I feel posting a question is the last resort. Between ya'lls replies and measuring a few more times I decided I'm going to go ahead and order the N520 and hope it fits. I'm a little more confident it may fit now but if it doesn't I can see about fitting it into the machine I'm building for my son using an MSI board. His will be basically the same setup as mine but I got a deal on the motherboard...first time I've used anything but Gigabyte in my builds so I'm hoping its not a bad purchase.

I don't really think that you will have a problem with the cooler/ram. It is a bit bigger than the standard heatsinks but nowhere near the largest. The main overhang is the fan but that is situated even higher up so there should be enough clearance. Let us know how you get on please. Good luck.
By the way nice avatar ;) What's it off?
