Title: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 Rev1.0 Bios Update
Post by: Court on September 05, 2010, 12:24:49 pm
Hey everyone

Just wanted to know how people was getting on with the new update to F7?

So far so good, newer Bios layout which is good, the only down side is the MIT Tweek Page is slow to respond. The other Bios Settings work fine.

I have just run the update and would have to agree, it looks promising. Didn't have aproblem with the MIT page being slow to respond, seemed fine. The layout is definitely an improvement and I liked the reporting aspect. I will give it a good try and then post again.

Cool stuff, I think they have made it easier to understand and not over crowded with information.

I need to order some more items for my machine before I go tweeking the settings in the Bios. But I have managed a 3.5GHz oc on my i7 920. 1st try isn't bad I guess.

Hi all , i have got a problem with the new F7 bios and am hoping someone can help ( logged a ticket with Gigabyte but no reply still so far ) . Anyways after updating i now find that most times i restart my machine it will stop after showing the bios version ( ie no cpu id message , ram size etc ) and will need the reset to be pushed , the code reader on the board always displays 50 at this pont , i have tried disabling all usb legacy options with no change . The bios settings are just set to optimal and i am using xmp profile 1 for my corsair 1600 ram , proc is a i7-930 at standard clocks . This never occured with F6 which is what my board shipped with , any ideas ? .

I am running an almost identical setup to you by the looks of it and have had no problems with it since the update(keeps fingers crossed ;))  If it continues I would suggest starting a thread of your own and we will see if we can get to the root cause.
