Title: GA-G31M-ES2L Network adapter problem.
Post by: kleefarr on June 07, 2009, 09:52:54 pm
I have recently bought this mobo and have installed Win XP SP2 on it. However, when I used the enclosed driver CD it automatically installed the drivers it found and it seems the driver for the Network adapter isn't liked by Windows XP.
Is this a known error?

Is it an error message similar to this one? (http://kb.netcomm.com.au/kb/admin/virtual/imgs/Driver%20signing.gif)

If so its perfectly fine and you can click continue anyway.

The P31-DS3L used to have this problem.

Go to Gigabytes Website and download the latest driver.

If it comes up with that message when installing don'r worry, click "continue anyway".

A Friend of mine found a lot of his problem was down to his LAN port driver and that solved it.

Thanks guys. Got the LAN going.
Came across another more infuriating problem though. After installing the Realtek High Definition Audio, I hear the closing down sound when it goes to restart, but then it freezes on the 'loading personal settings' window. ???
When I disable audio in BIOS, the computer runs fine.

Are you using the latest driver from the gigabyte website? If you are try using one that came on the CD or vice versa :)

Done everything I can think of.
It's annoying knowing that the sound is installed, as I can hear both closing down sounds and opening sounds.
Gigabyte have asked me to chek the memory with memtest. Have already done that. It's new Crucial memory.
They wanted to know what the PSU wattage was. It's 250w but the voltages are good. Besides, there's nothing in there apart from DVD, CPU and HDD.
