Good morning all I have a question about the above motherboard earliest revision, and the following ssd hard drive.

Now i know how to read and know somewhat how to set the bios the reason i am asking because i have only used 2 gigabyte boards and the bios is a bit different than what i am used to and i dont want to have to do this twice. The difference being the sata 2 and sata 3 cettings in bios. I need to run the above hard drive is achi mode in sata 3 port and a dvd write and spare hard drive in sata mode or ide mode whichever is best from the sata 2 ports. So i change sata 3 to achi before install and leave all other drives unhooked? till after then set sata 2 to sata and hook in other hard drive and dvd writer.
Am i missing anything? Thank you for any input your thoughtfulness is much appreciated. F4 bios btw

Hi there,
The SATA2 and SATA3 settings can be made independently. So you can safely set SATA3 to AHCI for your SSD and the SATA2 to IDE for your DVD/CD writer and Spare HDD.
There is no need to make any changes after installation of the OS and you can attach the DVD/CD writer before install. I would suggest attaching the spare HDD after you have installed the OS as this prevents anything being written to it during the install process.

As you say, always better to ask. That's how we all learn! ;)
