I flashed my GA-X58A-UD3R v2 to FB and want to update the backup bios to FB. System info shows FB for the main bios and FA for the backup. I tried Alt + F12 as in this post but nothing happens. http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,2838.msg19130.html#msg19130
I tried this from the bios post screen, from within the bios and from within Qflash. I must be doing something wrong or Alt + F12 does not work on a GA-X58A-UD3R v2? I'm using a PS2 keyboard BTW. Its a Microsoft Internet Keyboard Pro if it matters. I can round up other PS2 keyboards if necessary but before I go on a hunt I'd like to know for sure Alt + F12 actually works on a GA-X58A-UD3R v2 board. Is it possible the backup can only be updated on the first boot after flashing the main bios?
Thanks
Bill

No one has any ideas on this?

Hi Bill
I have just had confirmation that the ALT + F12 does work on this board. Can you try another keyboard maybe another PS2?

I have just updated the Backup BIOS on my board GA-X58A-UD7 from the Main BIOS using this method. I think maybe you just mistimed the keypress or something. It does work ok. ;)

Nope it was my Microsoft keyboard. I dug up another PS2 keyboard and ALT+F12 worked like a charm. So if anyone has problems trying to update their backup bios try a different keyboard.

Thanks for letting ius know Bill. I can't say I am surprised though as these Micro$oft keyboards seem to be at the bottom of several problems recently although I used one for many years and was very keen on it.

I'd like to replace it but it just wont die. I even have a spare one just like it. Besides what PS2 keyboards are still available as I hate USB ones.
My MS Intellimouse optical mouse is going on the blink, left mouse button is getting flaky. Thing must be 6-7 years old. That's a lot of clicking!
BTW what problems have MS keyboards caused?

Just general problems like the one you had, nothing specific. Mine died when my lump hammer hit it! 8) 8) Even a Micro$oft keyboard can't stand that. Well you have to have some excuse to upgrade, dont you?
