Hi. It's not really a broken thing per se, but I want to install windows XP using AHCI mode and was wondering if this motherboard has SATA drivers that come with it. I searched the Gigabyte site but could only find drivers for the DS3R and not the DS3L. Thanks in advance!

You can probably find drivers for AHCI on the Intel site for your chipset.

Thanks for the quick reply BM, but no dice. Intel site doesn't have it, and I can't find any on the Gigabyte site.

The only other place that I think might have them is TweakTown Forums. They are the US version of ours and tend to keep an archive of BIOS updates and drivers. Worth a look anyway. If necessary ask the question on there probably Lsdmeasap can help.

They are right here:

You will need a floppy disk to load them for XP and enable it in the BIOS
64bit ones should you have 64 bit XP

Thanks Peter I thought they should be there. ;)

Ah, ok! I just got the terminology mixed up and was looking for the wrong chipset. Thanks a bunch!

You're welcome. It's just I thought that they should be available there.
