Title: [Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4] PCI E x8 card in x16 slot
Post by: Lisa Gerrard on September 28, 2010, 06:02:23 am
hi, if I google I read that is possible, but the official manual says "the PCIE_16_2 supports x4", that's to say PCI E x8 card will not work at all or it will be limited to x4?

thank you

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Any PCIE card should work in any PCIE slot as long as it physically fits but kit will of course be limited to the slots performance. Therefore your PCIE x8 card put in a slot that will only perform to x4 will just be resrticted.
