Title: GA-880GA-UD3H and intel SSD 40gb
Post by: bigdaveberg on October 23, 2010, 02:43:40 am
Okay so i got a free intel SSD because my boss purchased the wrong drive and did not feel like taking it back (wierd i know) and he gave it to me, well it runs very awsome but i noticed after installing the drive in the system and installing win 7 x64 pro to it i sometimes get issues when turning the system on. It will get past post but right before it should start loading the os  with the words "Loading Operating System....."  it wont on the first time. So i press my handy reset button and its goes through fine and loads windows. Any clue on what could be going on? Bios update?
My sig should say most of my specs, it also now included the 40gb ssd, which is now the os drive and the wd cav blue 500gb is the storage drive partitioned for storagex2 parts and programsx1 so 3 partitions on the drive.
Could i be drawing too much juice? But again if i was i would notice other issues more than likely.

Well first question, Dave, is does your boss want anybody else to work for him? ;D

Have you cleared the CMOS and set everything up properly in the BIOS for the new drive arrangement?

Have you aligned, initialised and formatted the drive?

Have a read through this thread as I think it help answer most of your questions:

I have not yet cleared the cmos, infact i did not think of that.
I did format the drive, infact the drive was used in my laptop before that went to hell on me,a dn i bought an ipad instead(well bestbuy gave it to me because of a lemon finally).
It work fine in my lappy, but yes format fine. I was not aware of the alignment or intilised. This is my first ssd.
If my internet was not being horrid i would have read that forum first, i am letting it load as i type. i will edit or reply back after i read the article.
