Hey there, I just built a system based on the 880ga-ud3h rev 2.1 and I'm having issues with USB Mass Storage devices. When I plug them in/turn them on, my system will hang for about 4 seconds, then proceed to give the device the drive letter G (in Windows 7), but will not allow exploring it. Going into Disk Manager, the system will hang indefinitely until I unplug the device. I have the USB3 drivers installed (the newest), however, I don't believe that to be the cause as I attempt to open the devices in Ubuntu as well, and get similar results of the system hanging indefinitely. This happens upon multiple usb mass storage devices, which work on otherwise healthy computers.
I have the USB Legacy ENABLED as well the the USB Storage enabled in BIOS, and have cycled them on/off to attempt to fix the issues.
Any advice would be appreciated.

No, the devices do not work in either the USB 2.0 nor 3.0 ports. Tried multiple devices with every port.

Not sure why the USB ports aren't working especially as you say they do not work in Windows or Ubuntu.
First thing that springs to mind would be, is the Motherboard installed properly in the PC Case? I have come across issues of this nature when the Motherboard is not sitting firmly or is misaligned with the Backplate.
First step would be to try removing the motherboard from the PC and testing it on a bench. If the problem is still there then I would probably RMA the board as it is likely to be a hardware fault.

I just benched it and tried. Computer runs fine, but once again hangs system with the devices. I found a small usb 2gb flash drive that also hangs the system. Just going to RMA the board (AGAIN!). The first board's ATX12V/EPS12V supply for the CPU didn't work..
Probably going to RMA Replace it with a GA-890FXA-UD5, as it's a chance to upgrade to two ethernet port. It's just disappointing having to replace it AGAIN.

Just got my hands on a GA-890FXA-UD5 and it is a very nice board. I had it up and running in under an hour with Windows 7 64 Bit and yes, the USB ports seem to be working too!

I found a small 2 GB USB flash drive that also weighs the system. Just go to the RMA. The first is to supply ATX12V/EPS12V the CPU does not work, RMA will probably replace it with a 890FXA-GA-UD5 because it is a chance to spend two Ethernet ports.
