Hi guys,
Before I buy some DDR2 for my GA-EP35-DS3L Board I was toying with the idea of maybe getting a board which takes DDR3 with my E6600.
The obvious advantage been a quicker system and the not too big a diff in prices between DDR2 and DDR3.
I believe the EP35 is limited to 800mhz recommended.
any suggestions to a decent board or any general comments will be most welcome.
PS- I'm looking for about 4 gig mem

I think in general that is a sensible solution as DDR3 is mainstream now and DDR2 is being forced out. That means that DDR3 prices will continue to fall whereas DDR2 prices will start to increase. As you quite rightly mention there is also the added performance benefit.
I don't generally promote any particular board because it is very much a personal decision, depending on budget, features you need, future upgrades you may have in mind, etc. If you like a particular board I am more than happy to give you my opinion of it.

I'l do a bit of research and throw a few suggestions for your keen eyes ;)
Ive noticed a lot of boards are micro atx as opposed to atx which I have now.
My case will take atx no problem.
My only worry is that matx boards may limit the use of a cpu cooler (I plummed for a Nexus FLC 3000 R2 when I upgraded) and I cant really see a distinct advantage of a matx board over atx, unless of course if you have only a small case.

Personally unless you are planning an entertainment system for the living room etc I wouldnt go for a MATX board. I find them too restricting in options.
