Did I miss something? I've tried several times to install Win 7/64 and each time, when all is said and done, the Sata 6.0 1TB drive is listed as ATA and scores 5.9 on W7 Index. OK... I think that's wrong. My 1/5th the speed laptop scores a 5.1 on it's old internal IDE drive...
I've set everything to SATA in Bios but when I do that, the IDE CD-ROM drive fails to boot as if it's being shared with a SATA controller yet the manual mentioned nothing about that.
I've put the SATA drive into 3_0 and 3_4 with the same results...
Anyone know exactly what settings need to be what in the BIOS to get this work or am I crazy? Is it really ATA and listing it (s)ATA? I doubt that... my other old desktop with a SATA drive is listed as SCSI.
I've updated to the latest BIOS.
Thanks in advance.

Nope you didn't miss anything and welcome to the wonderful world of the Windows Experience Rating.
If the hard drive is mechanical then I doubt you will get it above 5.9 no matter what you try. I am currently testing a RAID0 Array using SATA3 (6GB/s) Mechanical HDD's and guess what, W.E. is still only 5.9. so don't get hung up on it.

We all know it's just a Micr$oft conspiracy ;D

Ahhh... Thanks for letting me know!
I actually was able to get the mobo to finally format and recognize it as SATA and wouldn't you know it. 5.9 :P
Hahah - Conspiracy? Microsoft? Naaaaaaaaa...
