Gigabyte GA-X58-USB3
Intel I7 950
Kingston Hyper 1600 Triple 6 X 2 Gig
750W OCZ Fatality Power Supply
ATI HD5450 Video Card
Power on, power off loop
No screen, no post
Two LED's show Red (if I remember rightly)
Taken the Processor out twice.
Pins look ok and all contacts on the CPU have marks centrally.
Tried another 700W PSU same result.
We have no intension on over clocking, this is to become our Small Business Server.
Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte UK Forum.
If you are correct in thinking that your CPU socket pins are ok then I would be looking for either a short to earth through the chassis, bad memory or possibly a bad PSU.
The best thing would be to strip it down and rebiuld bit by bit on the workbench. Testing as you go.

We returned the Board to the supplier and strangely NOW we have Bend Pins!
5 Pins are Bend now because of inserting the CPU on an angle.
What I found really strange is:
One of the bend pins is surrounded by 5 or 6 other pins and none of the others are damaged.
Just that single one in that area.
The other 4 bend pins are right on the edge of the socked @ half way up.
I could understand IF I placed the CPU down and forced with the lever.
But that would flatten loads of pins, not just ONE with all the others around it being fine.
I can't help it, but I smell a rat here.
best regards

I would be inclined to take in my CPU and show the technician the marks from the pins on the processor lands and ask him how they all show a mark in the centre if the pins were bent. ???
